Roller Disco on The Drive!

Car Free Day, Sunday, July 8, 12-6pm
Commercial Drive @ Gravely St., Vancouver

We’re bringing the party to Car Free Day Vancouver: Commercial Drive! Join us at the intersection of Commercial and Graveley for some free, fun outdoor skating with a distinctly retro vibe. Tunes provided by DJ K-Tel, DJ Andy Chambers and Electrabelle, and rental skates from Rolla Skate Club.

This is an uneven, outdoor surface, so outdoor wheels and protective gear is recommended.

Leave your car at home, grab your skates, and feel the beat of love!

FUBAR Roller Jam 2018

Sunday, September 30, 12-6pm
Robson Square, 800 Robson Street, Vancouver

Friends United Beyond All Race is proud to present the second FUBAR Roller Jam! Robson Square’s skating rink will be magically transformed into a classic roller disco on June 17 from 12-6pm with family roller skating, old-school soul, funk and R&B music, and a fun, retro vibe. The event will also feature special performances, food vendors, face painting, prize draws, 50/50 draws, celebrity DJ’s, Table Tutor advanced DJ students and more. Advanced skaters will also be on site for individual help and instruction.

Admission by donation (min. $10). Proceeds go to Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon, whose mission it is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions giving them hope, strength and joy. Glow Sticks & Make-A-Wish Stars will also be available for purchase for a minimum donation of $20.

There will be an all-ages family & beginners skate from 12-2:30pm. This will be a slower-paced skate with lots of help to keep things safe. *Please note all kids under 10 MUST wear a helmet.*

The 3-6pm skate will be for skaters 10yrs and up, but it will be a faster-paced skate that will include adult advanced skaters, so it’s not recommended for brand new skaters. Beginner skaters should stick to the 12-2:00pm skate.

Adult skate rentals (sizes 1-13 only, sorry, no kids’ skates) will be available, provided by the Rolla Skate Truck and Shop Task. Safety gear is also available.

If you are unable to attend, you can still donate. Go to makeawishbc.ca/donate and select “In Honour Of” then type in the box “F.U.B.A.R. Roller Jam”. If you donate online you will receive an auto-generated tax receipt & thank you from Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon directly.

After Party (19 & up) hosted at The Soul Train Social, The Park Pub (1755 Davie Street, Vancouver BC).
